Prayer to the Gorilla

Dear Great Gorilla, mighty guardian of the primal earth,
I call to you with a humble heart,
Beneath the watchful eyes of Pachamama,
And the sacred peaks of the apus who breathe life into the world.
You, who stand tall in the shadows of the forest,
With strength that holds the weight of mountains,
And a spirit that binds the threads of family,
I honor you as my guide, my protector, my teacher.
Grant me your quiet power,
That I may walk with dignity through Kay Pacha,
Rooted in the soil of this living earth,
Steady as the roots that cradle your home.
Teach me the wisdom of your stillness,
The patience that flows from Ukhu Pacha’s depths,
So I may listen to the whispers of my soul,
And grow strong in the silence between steps.
Bless me with your fierce love,
That I may uphold ayni, the sacred give and take,
Weaving bonds with my kin, my community,
A circle unbroken, like the embrace of your arms.
Dear Gorilla, spirit of the wild and wise,
I offer you my gratitude,
A breath of thanks, a handful of corn, a leaf of coca,
To carry my words to the heart of Pachamama.
Walk with me, mighty one,
Through the trials of this world and beyond,
So I may stand as you do,
Resilient, rooted, and ever true.

Sumak kawsay, kawsay pacha.
May I live well, in harmony with all that is.
